Website Technology vs Search Engine Optimization

Does the way your website is put together affect how many people visit your site?

An example is the hot new website technology called Silverlight. While Adobe’s Flash is installed on more machines so it is easier for more consumers to see your Flash images, the compressed format does not allow it to be searchable by the search engines. The latest version is now starting to be indexed by Google. Silverlight textual content, on the other hand, is designed to be indexable and searchable by all the search engines. This means that keywords can be salted into your Silverlight text as well as throughout your website; resulting in higher Google and Yahoo rankings, and more visitors, without spending a penny on SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

Flash vs Silverlight    

Selecting the right technology for rich Internet applications is often critical, and choosing between Flash and Silverlight depends entirely on your requirements. If you expect that some of your users will be on Linux or Solaris, then you should go with Flash. If you want your website to be indexed by search engines, then Silverlight may be better. On the other hand, the latest version of Flash supports 3D rendering, which Silverlight does not.

How to increase your open rates when sending out a newsletter

One other thing to remember is that if some of your readers are opening the newsletter on their Smartphone and may not be displaying images.  If they are not displaying images, their open will not count toward your open rate.

Last week we launched this new website for a local authentic Mexican grill, Tortas Mexico.

Tortas Mexico started in October 1994 when Jaime and Mary Abarca opened the doors to their tiny 300 square foot restaurant located in La Canada, CA. Their philosophy was simple; fresh home-style food with an authentic Mexico City flavor, at a reasonable price.

New website launched for client - www.ArmenianBridal.com

One of the larger projects we have been involved with, launched last month, ArmenianBridal.com.

This was actually a redesign of the original site we had done in early 2007.

A lot of planning went into the new design, how to integrate the many new aspects of the site, keep it easy to navigate and make it more fun to be on.

The main purpose of this site is to give information/resources to brides planning their wedding.
  • Many articles (how to's, tips, traditions, planning guide) with commenting
  • Featured Weddings (photos from recently married couples)
  • Videos (recently married couples and some other fun stuff)

June CV Chamber Hosted by Caspian Services, Inc.

For the 4th year in a row we hosted the CV Chamber of Commerce business mixer on June 9th.

The mixer had a great turnout, over 60 business owners attended, our office provided refreshments, snacks and food.

The chamber gave out scholarships to local high school students, introduced new chamber members and held a raffle.

The chamber mixers are a great way for local business owners to network and do business with each other.

From the feedback we got, many people got to do some business and they also had fun at our event.

We are looking forward to next years event, if you did not make it to this one, mark you calendar early for next years!
